Introducing Mew

Mew, an indie band from Denmark, have released a new album titled "No More Stories Today I'm Sorry They Washed Away". The first ever song I heard by them was "Introducing Palace Players" which was an instant hit with its strange but catchy stop-start melody. The rest of the album follows on to create a remarkable album that is a must listen.

Glass Candy: Pre-Party Music

Glass Candy make music that is extremely stylish vintage pop with plenty of synthesized crackles and soothing soft vocals. Reminiscent of a modern day Kraftwerk with the exception of the vocals - even paying tribute to them with a remake of their song "Computer Love". Glass Candy is suitable for multiple moods but personally, its perfect when you are busy doing work that you have to finish before going out on a Satuday night!

The Golden Filter - Precious Music

The Golden Filter, an artist recommended by "last.fm" based on similarities to my favourite artists, was an instant hit the first time I listened to them. They are a brand new band, having only recorded four songs: "Solid Gold", "Favourite Things", "Hide Me" and "Moonlight Fantasy". The best description for Golden Filter would be as a mixture of Royksopp, Zero 7, Goldfrapp and Deep Dish into one colourful, fresh artist. Their songs are a precious commodity and I'm waiting in anticipation for their first album.

Flunk: Aced Lullaby

Flunk is another electronic band from Norway. Something about the country seems to produce wonderful music. Flunk combines mellow tunes with soothing vocals and produce an end result similar to a lullaby - just with great, meaningful lyrics. Flunk is perfect for listening to while cooking, just relaxing or even to fall asleep to!

They Have Band

We have band, who recently signed up with the record label Kitsune (who also signed Chew Lips), are a revolutionary band bringing abstract art back into music. Having only heard three of their songs, "You came out" "Hear it in the cans" and "Oh!", I was immediately attracted by their experimental style of music. The songs incorporate hypnotic melodies, simple beats and basslines with unique noises arranged in such a way that it will send you into a trance-like state of musical bliss.

The music videos (available to watch using the video bar) compliment their songs with incredible artwork. The complete music video for "You came out" was compiled using 5000 still pictures.

I heart Palpitation

Palpitation, an electronic-indie band from Sweden create upbeat music with gloomy undertones fused with husky, grated vocals. The mixture leads to music that is "love at first listen", perfect for those drab Sunday's where you sit and look out the window and watch the world go by slowly. Listening to the album will send you into a palpitation of joy.

This Will Destroy You - Destroyed

This Will Destroy You, very similar to Explosions In The Sky, are yet another band to succeed in the up-coming post-rock genre. Their music contains elements of high and low tempo instrumentals with strong pulsating distortions. Listening to their album is watching a slideshow in your mind. The high tempo's project images of a high-speed voyage on an interstellar spaceship, watching the stars pass by. The low tempo's depict an image of free-falling bliss and flying through the clouds. Listening to the album "Young Mountain", I am hit by recurring visions of running through the open fields as a young kid. Have a listen and prepare yourself for your own personal trip!

Röyksopp Revolution

Royksopp, my all time favourite band, are back doing what they do best with their new album - Junior. With their previous two albums being out-of-this-world, I thought that their 3rd couldn't be anywhere as good, but I have never been so glad to be wrong! Junior blew me away with its crisp retro tunes incorporated with futuristic hummings from a world in the distant future. The album lends collaborations from popular vocalists such as Karin Dreijer (also featurimg on their previous album, The Understanding) who is one half of the electronic duo, The Knife. "You don't have a clue" is the standout song in this album, one listen will have you captivated.

Chew Lips: A breath of fresh air to music!

I recently stumbled upon this band by chance and decided to visit their myspace webpage. I opened the page on another tab and was busy surfing something else. All of a sudden, I was hit by a pulse of refreshing tunes combined with catchy lyrics and a voice to die for! Frantically looking for the source of this musical form of ambrosia, i opened the tab and i was greeted by a host of visual artworks that mesmerized me. I hadn't seen and heard such a refreshing addition to music since Everything But The Girl (EBTG) and Royksopp and i couldn't hide my excitement! I immediately searched the internet and downloaded all their available mp3's. "Salt Air" and "Solo" are songs that nobody can afford to miss out on. Chew Lips are destined for greatness!
