Chromatics - Night Drive


Night Drive, an album I just started listening to recently, blew me away just after playing the first track, "The Telephone Call", which is exactly that - a phone call after a night out. The Track sets the mood for the entire album and the rest of the tracks continue to thrill to the very end. Chromatics have quickly become my most listened to band on last.fm and I've been playing this album on repeat over and over for the past few days. Fans of Glass Candy will surely enjoy them since the band contains a member from Glass Candy. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Everything But The Girl

Temperamental by Everything But The Girl (EBTG), is in my opinion, the best album ever released and I consider it to be one of the albums that you must listen to at least once in your life. There are no standout songs, which shows just how good this album is.

Another Flunk Album



Morning Star by Flunk is one of my favourite albums. I just had to share this with everyone. "On My Balcony", "True Faith" and "Everything Is Ending Here" are my standout songs but all the songs play their part from beginning to end to create this splendid album. Enjoy

Music From South Africa: Goldfish


South Africa is not known for its music culture but Goldfish, an electronic band from Cape Town, are doing their part to change that. They blend jazz with electronica and hints of African music to create fresh music that is a welcome change from the monotony of the music in the country. Their hit song "This Is How It Goes" features in adverts and at various social events throughout the country. They also have funky artwork to go with their album "Perceptions Of Pacha". Cut, Copy, Paste


Cut Copy, are an electrosynth band from Australia. They draw influences from Daft Punk and Kraftwerk and create music that is a blend of the two. They create easy listening contemporary music with an old feel. Their most notable song is "Far Away" from their most recent album, In Ghost Colours, which has been remixed by a host of artists, including "The Golden Filter" and "Hercules And Love Affair".

Musical Telepathy


Telepathe, a band from New York are very similar to Gang Gang Dance, making experimental noise pop with lot of synths, uneven melodies and hypnotizing vocals. "Dance Mother", their debut album, is an interesting listen.

Appreciating The Depreciation Guild


The Depreciation Guild manufactures fuzzed out reverberating noises with high pitched digital squeals and high-tempo beats and blends it with mellow indie vocals to create a whole new genre incorporating indie with chiptunes. They are also known for their innovative live performances featuring bright LCD's that flash different colours according to the note being played. They became an instant favourite of mine after listening to "Butterfly Kisses" and "By Sundown", both very reminiscent of the sounds contained in the arcade games I played as a kid, definitely worth a listen.
